What is SPAA’s Specialist Accreditation Program?

SPAA has developed an Accreditation Program to ensure high standards of integrity and professionalism are achieved and maintained by professionals specialising in the provision of services to the SMSF sector.

SPAA is committed to being at the forefront of change by working proactively to raise practice standards in the SMSF sector and looking after the needs of those Australians who choose to manage their own superannuation.  This is the first program in Australia to offer independent verification and certification of a professional’s competency, independence, experience and knowledge.

SPAA’s Specialist Accreditation Program currently comprises the SMSF Specialist Advisor™ and SMSF Specialist Auditor™ Programs. Eligible SPAA members can choose to do one or both of the programs. After successfully completing the program requirements the SPAA Member will be awarded the specialist designation and become a SPAA Specialist Member.

Why become a SPAA Specialist Member?

Through accreditation, Specialist Members of SPAA are able to demonstrate they have attained the benchmark set by the association and:

  • are recognised by peers as having comprehensive specialist SMSF skills and knowledge;
  • have made a professional commitment to maintaining currency and compliance with legislation; and
  • are able to show professionalism in conducting services in the SMSF sector.
