Webcasts

SPAA recognises that members from regional Australia often don’t have the same opportunities to attend technical sessions to further their knowledge in Self Managed Super Funds as those in major cities. To meet this need in 2007 SPAA introduced our webcast program which provides monthly opportunities for regional members (only) to view a live webcast on a technical topic of the day.

Questions can be asked in real time and member feedback suggests that watching a presentation in the comfort of their office or boardroom has been a most positive initiative by the association.

Our annual webcast schedule can be viewed in the events section of this website.  Upcoming Events

SPAA Resource Library

SPAA has recently launched the Member Resource Library as part of it's website upgrade.  This Resource Library contains important updates from ATO, ASIC, APRA and Government bodies, State Chapter resources including minutes and presentations from events, other useful information released by SPAA and much more.

The SPAA House also has a library of current SMSF and Superannuation texts which are useful tools for members.

Member Forum

The SPAA Forum has been developed to provide SPAA members with a platform to share ideas and hold discussions on key issues within the SMSF industry.  Visit the SPAA Members' Forum in the Members' Area and you will be able to:

Presentations & Seminars

Throughout the year presentations and seminars will provide our members with information on the latest relevant SMSF issues. These will be presented by industry recognised speakers from throughout the SMSF advice industry and financial services sector.

Our members have conveyed that these informative networking opportunities are an important part of their SPAA Membership.

Member Concessions

SPAA has negotiated concessional arrangements for Members with SPAA’s Sponsors, all of which are relevant to our membership. These arrangements provide Members with a substantial range of concessional rates for products and services offered by those organisations. Please peruse our website for SPAA sponsors.

SPAA Media

SPAA regularly provides articles and interviews on behalf of members for media in relation to SMSF issues. SPAA is recognised for its non-political and knowledgeable points of view.

Resources

The requirement of Advisors for knowledge and expertise, by both Trustees of SMSFs and regulatory organisations will only become more rigorous. SPAA is committed to assist accessibility to resources for Professional Advisors to assist them in providing improved service and outcomes to their clients.

Compliance standards and regulatory and industry updates are reviewed and published by SPAA’s Regulatory Committee. These documents have direct application within practice management processes and are an extremely useful basis for compliance in members’ daily activities. These standards will be available to Members on-line.

Teleconferences

Teleconferences are facilitated from time to time for the distribution of new and critical information concerning the SMSF Environment. These are facilitated at a State and Special Interest Group level, and are extremely useful for those members who find it difficult to attend Chapter gatherings.
