SPAA has developed independent national professional standards which underpin the association's education program.  These were developed  in conjunction with SPAA Specialist Members, industry experts from various professional backgrounds, the regulators and education industry experts. These standards have been incorporated into an independent Education Program allowing education providers in the financial services industry to prepare courses using these standards to achieve excellence.

The standards are also incorporated in the SPAA independent Accreditation Program for our members to achieve the SMSF Specialist Advisor® designation.

SPAA provides the opportunity for industry education providers and organisations to receive professional recognition of excellence for their delivery of SMSF Education rather than the specified minimum requirement.

SPAA is also the first associaton or organisation within the Financial Services Industry in Australia to develop an independent, transparent, audited assessment program for its members.  Members seek the SPAA accreditation designation in recognition of their knowledge and skills as an SMSF Advisor.  SPAA recognises the assistance and encouragement in the development of our membership standards from our members, the Regulators and leading industry experts.
